No. Online statements, or eStatements, are not required along with online banking. If you can be given immediate access, we do present you with the eStatements option at the end of the sign-up and online banking setup session. While this feature is automatically present in Online Banking and you can activate it at anytime, it is not a requirement.
We do encourage you to sign up to receive your statements online in Online Banking.
Why eStatements?
When you choose Provident eStatements instead of paper statements through the mail, all at once you:
-Enhance your privacy and security -Help yourself stay organized -Do your part to reduce paper output and help the environment -Make your online banking experience even more convenient and complete
To start receiving your statements online rather than in the mail, take the following steps:
-Sign on to online banking -Click on Customer Service, then Change statement delivery method -For your Provident deposit accounts, choose the “Online” selection under Delivery Method and click Submit.
If you ever want to, you may go back to paper delivery. Once you change an account's statement delivery method from "Online" to "Paper," you will lose access to any statements previously delivered online, so you may want to save your online statements before changing back to paper.
Once you start receiving eStatements in online banking, you will accumulate up to eighteen months’ worth of statements. After you have accumulated eighteen months of statements, the next time your statement is delivered it will replace the oldest statement that is available. When statements are delivered, you can, of course, save them to a secure location on your own computer for long-term storage and safekeeping. You’ll see it beats the old way – stuffing your paper statements into that old shoebox.
Statements come in Adobe Acrobat® Reader™ format. If you don’t have Adobe Acrobat® Reader™, it is available here. Online statements look exactly like the paper version and also include links to images of checks you’ve written.
