In Canada, if you are legally married you have the right to get help for your mate (you rule above their own parents)and more than one psychiatrist will test your mate before coming to any conclusion. Be sure this person is mentally ill before you do this. If they are on any medications please check these medications out for side effects at any pharmacy or go on the internet and find out what side effects there may be. Many medications can change a person's personality.
If you decide (by your laws in your country) to have your mate committed for psychiatric evaluation please check out the procedure by your doctor first. It can be complicated and it can turn ugly if you don't follow the correct procedures.
